Manifesto

Curtis and I came up with the following manifesto in class today. It outlines how we believe music should be released digitally, as well as some personal issues about album formats.

The “How Music Should Be Digitally Released” Manifesto

• All music must be downloadable with a pay what you want policy

• All releases must be entire EPs or LPs or whole sessions (singles must be standalone singles)

This ensures that people are not required to buy a song twice, as both a single and               an album version.

• Full albums must be available to stream online

This allows listeners to make a more informed decision about purchasing an                         album.

• There will be no censoring/time editing/general messing with the original recordings for the initial release

• All music will be released with a creative commons licence

• All DRM schemes will be abolished
